Jill Hoy is a contemporary impressionist painter, primarily known for her landscape and figurative works inspired by Maine's coastal environment. She is also a mentor and educator, and runs the Jill Hoy Gallery in Stonington, Maine, where she divides her time between her studio and working outdoors ("en plein air"). Her work is characterized by a vibrant use of color and a focus on the effects of natural light.
