Lisa Foti-Straus
As an artist and designer, I have worked in different mediums and scales, from film to wood, pots to structures. In 2008, I co-founded Gravel & Gold in San Francisco, where I designed silkscreened textiles for our in-house clothing line and co-ran our shop until 2015. As I began to want to return to making with my own hands, I got into home building. At Heartwood School in Western Massachusetts, I trained in timber frame building over several summers. In 2017, I entered the Furniture Design program at the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 2019. Along with my partner, Barrett Purdum, I designed and built a house for dear friends in Sorrento Maine from 2019-2024.
