August Nights Blur Brightly

Paul Wackers creates dynamic and increasingly complex visual environments. His paintings are universal, yet clearly recognizable by his signature style which melds abstraction and figuration, expressionist, trompe l’oeil and cartoon-like styles that make up his joyous body of work. Beyond 2D, Wackers has been exploring ceramics and sculptural work over the last decade.

Paul Wackers was born in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1978. He received a BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC, and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Mostly Paul makes Paintings but often works with other materials such clay and paper works to keep the explorations fresh in the studio. His Dog Buddy is the main source of much of his inspo since somehow that kibble needs to get paid for!
