Mary Fleming (b.1984) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Richmond, Virginia. She transforms discarded materials into sculptural works that spark curiosity and delight. Plastic packaging, prescription bottles, toilet paper rolls, and other single-use throwaways become her building blocks—like puzzle pieces in an open-ended game of reinvention. Remnants from past works often reappear in new assemblages, creating layered narratives that blur the line between recycling and imagination. Guided by intuition and a sense of discovery, Fleming reclaims what’s overlooked and disposable, inviting viewers to find wonder and possibility in the unexpected.
