"Matron was created during my recent residency in Arraiolos, Portugal, and continues my exploration of archetypal divine presences. The figure operates simultaneously as guardian and witness; a stabilizing force within a symbolic landscape. As with much of my work, the painting approaches the body as both vessel and architecture, suggesting states of care, endurance, and generative power."
