Brianne Doak is the mastermind behind RODEO, an architectural design studio based out of NYC. She is also my longest running BFF, (we met freshman year at UC Santa Cruz 20 years ago!) and was integral to the design of the shop. Brianne took up the task to submit a piece for the rock show to prototype a project she has had mulling in her brain for years… a beautiful squatty potty. This particular stool is made from a beautiful slab of birds-eye Maple from her late step-father’s collection of rare woods and set with two beach stones in optimal points, according to acupressure charts, to encourage a healthy and easeful drop. Aluminum legs were considered for industrial support, but a light as a feather appeal. A beautiful object for the loo, but so artful you may just want to stare at it instead.
