San Francisco-based designers Tim Carpenter and Hongsun Yoon founded Hooray Sock Co. in 2017, after receiving their MFAs at California College of the Arts and tying the knot. What started as a side hustle designing socks in a tiny San Francisco apartment and selling them at Bay Area craft markets has grown into a nationwide business. Their socks are made in small batches with a manufacturing partner in South Korea. Our premium line is hand-picked from a small family-run sock factory in Nara, Japan, making fluffy, low-gauge socks since 1927. They are proudly independent, have no investors, and are not on Amazon.
