This holiday season, we’re turning our attention to an age-old material and one of humanity’s most enduring creative pursuits: woodworking. We’re on the hunt for all things made of WOOD-Sculptures, bowls and spoons, trivets, whimsy’s, or ornaments, tools and lamps or any other wild idea made from wood!

Have you ever wanted to make a series of wooden signs, special ladles, a deeply specific shelf or tool, carve a soccer ball from a burl, or make a collection of nose-shaped finials?

Maybe you already work in wood and make outrageous cutting boards, turned cups, carved creatures, strange furniture, wooden lights, treasure boxes, toys, talismans, or objects whose purpose is entirely up for debate. Or maybe you know someone making wonderful wooden things.

Something plane wild?
Against the grain?
A little sappy?
Time to branch out?

We want to hear from you!

We’re especially interested in work that embraces the possibilities of wood beyond the expected—objects that demonstrate craft and care while bringing a distinct point of view, sense of humor, or spark of imagination.

WOOD SHOP will take over the gallery at Working Loose from November 15, 2026 through January 15, 2027. The selected works will be installed together as an immersive, all-wood SHOP—a cash-and-carry exhibition and concept shop, with an emphasis on beautifully made, highly considered, wonderfully strange, and eminently gift-able objects for the holiday season.

HOW TO APPLY
Email us with:

  • Images of your proposed work
  • Retail pricing
  • Quantity of each item you would be willing to consign
  • A brief description of your work or proposed project

Don’t have the work made yet? That’s okay.

If there’s a wooden object, series, or wild idea you’ve always wanted to make and this feels like the right excuse to finally bring it into the world, tell us about it.

Our hope is to assemble an absolutely ineffable collection of goods, tools, art, and objects—a standout showing of contemporary woodworking that feels as much like an exhibition as it does a very unusual holiday shop.
